KLR Gardening Monthly Newsletter
Welcome to this edition of the monthly newsletter from KLR Gardening!
š± From Kirsty
September seems to have flown by! Although rainfall has been on the low side, the damper mornings have been providing some much-needed moisture for lawns and other plants in the garden.
A big highlight for me this month was appearing in Good Housekeeping magazine! This was something I had been keeping to myself for a few months, so it felt rather special to finally see KLR Gardening in print.
š” September in the Gardens
Here are a few highlights from my work in your gardens this month.

šø Plant of the Month: Salvia āHot Lipsā
One of my other favourites is Salvia Ć jamensis āHot Lipsā. This popular, bushy shrub produces striking red-and-white bicoloured flowers that resemble puckered lips!
It has a hardiness rating of H5, meaning it can generally tolerate temperatures down to around -10°C under UK conditions. Itās also a fantastic plant for pollinators and, like many salvias, has wonderfully aromatic foliage as well as beautiful flowers.
Itās a lovely addition to the garden, providing colour and attracting beneficial pollinators.

š October in the Garden
As autumn settles in, there are plenty of jobs to keep our gardens looking their best.
š Leaf collection ā Clearing fallen leaves from lawns, patios and pathways helps keep the garden tidy and prevents leaves from smothering the grass.
š± Lawn care ā Scarifying and raking out moss can help improve the condition of lawns where needed. The timing and intensity of treatment will depend on the condition of the lawn and the weather.
š· Spring bulbs ā October is an ideal time to start planting many spring-flowering bulbs, such as daffodils, crocuses and alliums, ready for a splash of colour next year.
šæ Until Next Month
And thatās a wrap on September!
Although the warmer weather is still lingering, the days are certainly drawing in, and autumn is knocking on the door. Thereās still plenty to keep us busy in the garden over the coming weeks.
Thank you, as always, for your continued support of KLR Gardening. It really is appreciated.
If thereās something in your garden youād like a helping hand with this autumn, please donāt hesitate to get in touch.
See you next month!
